November Candle Subscription: Gather for Warmth

Here's a confession - as I was writing the title of this post, I accidentally wrote October instead of November. Where has the time gone this year? I feel like it was just April and I was excited about a new season of craft shows, outdoor happy hours and my fast approaching wedding. Back in April, I had not even conceptualized the idea of a candle subscription yet but that's where we are now in life and I'm so grateful for all the things that have brought me to this point in my business.

It was November 2012 when I officially left my day job to pursue candle making full time so this time of year, I like to sit and reflect on how far I've come. When I first decided to make Handmade Habitat my life, I was taking a huge gamble. I had a chance to take the-most-boring-day-job-of-all-time getting talked down to by graduate students all day, every day - but with benefits and days off and v a c a t i o n  t i m e .

At first I I was really playing a game - of how many months I could sell candles and pay my rent. Two years in, I'm really happy about how things have played out: I have a business. I work part time making big ideas happen one of the markets I started vending at way back in the day. I have so many other projects about flowers and other creative people. And I have met so many awesome people along the way.

Right now, I'm comfortable; I'm feeling a little confident [finally]; and I'm really happy that I have gotten to share this little life journey with all of you - who in your own ways have helped and influenced everything I do.

So in the spirit of Thanksgiving and thankfulness and reflection, here is our November [not October] Monthly Candle Subscription: a cinnamon orange clove Gather candle, and a little set of warmth matches. May you feel warm and fuzzy inside this Thanksgiving, whether you're sharing it with family, old friends, or new friends.

P.S. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of all time, but more on that later this month.
