DCPL is celebrating Banned Books Week with a city-wide scavenger hunt from Sept 5-30 with books hidden all over the city on the theme of "Texts Against Tyranny." Throughout the month, you can also join in on the fun at different DC libraries for awesome workshops, book talks, film screenings, art installations and more events, culminating with UNCENSORED Underground, this year's DCPL fundraising party at Dupont Underground.
The party will feature signature banned books themed cocktails, live music from local bands, and a pop-up market featuring the work of DC makers.

Find our work on display at Vision DC's Made in DC Marketplace! Vision DC is an Arts and Urban Innovation Summit, on April 24 at the iconic Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater!
VISIONDC is designed to inspire fresh ideas about artspace and community development in Washington. Artists, technological visionaries, cultural partners, business and civic leaders will assemble for a full day of energetic conversation and creativity. The summit will feature: conversations with local and national thought leaders, performances and art installations from over 40 dynamic artists cross-country, and ART TANK, a real-time funding commitment for public art in the city.
Join us at the Lab 1270 West Elm around the corner from Union Market on the Saturday before Easter for a Spring pop-up! We'll have our favorite Spring scents + beauty goods, plus shop the Lab 1270 West Elm before they close down for the season at the end of April.

About the event: Ann Hamilton, an internationally renowned visual artist and self-described maker, joins Emily Pilloton, designer, builder, and educator, to talk about the relevance of hands-on learning and how the experience of making things can inspire the next generation of innovators and creative change makers. Followed by Catalyst, a cocktail hour with a topic and a twist. Exhibition galleries will be open to attendees 5–6:45 p.m. Shop booths featuring local makers before and after the Fresh Talk.
