MakeHer Summit: Self Care for Creatives

I am so honored and excited to be part of this year’s MakeHer Summit at the National Museum of Women in the Arts leading a workshop on self care for creatives.

When you pour your heart and soul into your work, how do you reset? In my one-hour workshop, we will explore different and practical means of self care geared towards women working and living in the creative world and work to implement strategies to keep us accountable to our selves.

This workshop is part of the MakeHer Summit, a two-day event featuring the MakeHer Mart, a Fresh Talk panel event featuring women in the creative economy, and workshops for growth, the nitty gritty of running a creative business, and self care for creative entrepreneurs at all levels.

About the Instructor: Amina Ahmad is the owner and maker of Handmade Habitat, an all natural soy wax candle and beauty goods company for slow, mindful living. She has been a creative entrepreneur in the DC area for eight years and is also a YRT-200 certified yoga instructor. Mindfulness and self care is a way of life, and balancing self care both as a job and as a necessity has been her work for years. Amina’s favorite mode of self care is taking long walks through her flower-strewn neighborhood with her dog, Rosie.
