Ceramic Candle Collaboration with Kuzeh Pottery
I am a ceramics shadow artist and it is my absolute dream to become an actual ceramics artist *someday*.
In my senior year of high school, I threw myself into a 3-D advanced arts class with absolutely no ceramics experience, though the class was mostly ceramics based. It was a battle to learn the art and craft of it in 45-minute increments but it was where I found myself the most satisfied that year.
Ceramics is truly, in my mind, where art and craft collide. As an avid collector of ceramics, I love the variation in styles, in forms, in perspectives that the genre provides, and I have loved collaborating with ceramic artists on candles over the years.
Last fall I launched a collaboration with Kuzeh Pottery, now my neighbor on the Arts Walk at Monroe Street Market where the Handmade Habitat studio is also now home. I love these vessels that are the largest ceramic collab collection that we have done and the most involved. There are seven candles in this collection, each in a scent from our signature candle collection, and each vessel is colored the same as the flowers on our signature candle jars.
Last summer I finally took a ceramics class after 10+ years of vowing to find the time to explore the medium again. I found myself in the studio of Kuzeh Pottery learning the form while they were busy on production, and getting to watch these tumblers be born while appreciating how difficult of a craft it is to master was truly inspiring.
All this is to say: Iām excited these are back. Get one while you can.
