January Candle Club: for a fresh new year
Happy New Year, friends!
After a wild holiday season, we're in full hibernation mode over here. It's all about rest and gaining perspective; looking back on 2022 and ahead to 2023 all at once. We are tucked up in cozy blankets and surrounded by journals while we dream up all the things we want to invite in for this fresh start of a new year.
This year we're looking to *finally* bring back workshops (in both locations!), keep doing what works (and less of what hasn't), and bring in some new scents and goods for you to enjoy (and that create less work for me!).
I love January for the clarity it always brings. I hope it does the same for you too. But if you need some cozy new year inspiration, here's what we're up to right now…
January through the senses. Here's what I'm...
SEEING: Fresh and clean surfaces after the chaos of the holiday season. I haven't quite put all the holiday decor away yet but the process has started to help freshen our home and my mind in this new year of life.
HEARING: A real pterodactyl squawk is coming out of my tiny baby somehow. The shrieking is both parts hilarious and exhausting and I'm ready for this phase to be oever lol.
SMELLING: Sweet Spearmint. The scent of new beginnings, clarity, and freshness, just what home needs right now after an indulgent holiday season.
TASTING: Lots of sweets. Caramel peanuts, pirouettes, lotus cookies dipped in icing. I didn't really set any health resolutions for the year lol, or at least they are not going to start until after the holiday hangover is over. Then we'll be peeling fresh clementines on the hour until they are out of season.
TOUCHING: Paper and yarn. I'm feeling really crafty right now after knitting a tiny sweater for a Christmas / New Years gift and I'm experimenting with making a little paper lamp in the shape of a lotus flower. Nothing ever comes out perfect in a DIY but that's not really the point. It's more the act of making that it's about; the empoweredness, the feeling of purpose and pride. Making things is in my blood, at my core, and I haven't always felt the most motivated to make things in the last decade or so, but right now I'm back in it and eager to fill my life with all the oddly shaped imperfect things.
This month’s Candle Club members will find a sweet spearmint candle and tea lights in their delivery. For freshness and coziness all at once.
