New Year Magic
Happy New Year, friends!
I’ve spent the last few months thinking about this year a lot. Trying to make a plan, trying to set boundaries, and writing and rewriting notes to you 1000 times.
But the truth is that I don’t really know what this year will hold. That’s the problem with New Year’s resolutions, isn’t it? We make these grand plans, grand schemes, and then life happens, our resolutions are forgotten, and at the end of the year we’re disappointed that things haven’t turned out the way we originally envisioned.
So this year I’m stepping back, taking a breath, and making more space to rest, recover, and follow my own intuition and inspiration in creating for this business. Our second baby is expected within a few short weeks and instead of trying to keep up with how we’ve done things in the past, I’m allowing myself to let go and flow with the new currents of life.
So practically speaking, here’s what that looks like:
We are currently in a waiting game. Waiting on this baby, and until he arrives, the site is 20% off with the code “NEWYEARMAGIC”.
We are currently shipping only in-stock items (all inventory on the site is up to date!) as often as we can (with my increasingly limited mobility), but eventually shipping will come to a complete stop for 2-3 weeks while we recover and adjust to life at home. If you have an outstanding order during that time, I will be in touch to offer you the option to either cancel it or wait for it to ship until I’m back in the studio. Studio closures will be noted on the site.
We are also offering a wholesale sale on Faire with the code “NEWYEARWAITING” through January 10th. We will participate in the Faire Winter Market Jan 23-25, but orders placed during that time will ship after March 01. We are also only shipping in stock inventory for wholesale orders with items to be discontinued on an additional sale.
This year, things will move more slowly while I give myself time and space to rest, recover, and care for my babies. Items will sell out without being immediately restocked, and some items will be discontinued after selling out. See the retiring section of our site for those!
We’re moving toward more limited product offerings in the future. I’m dreaming of a world where we offer a few scents each season and limited edition collections. I hope this will allow us to introduce more new scents more often and operate leaner than we have in the past, a way to make life more flexible for this mama. I’m also dreaming of experimenting with different product lines and different art forms to weave into this world. I can’t wait to have the time and space to bring those dreams to life. There are no set plans at the moment, no timelines, as we will see how the year unfolds at home first. But expect change, friends. I know myself well enough to know that usually when I take a breath, newness seeps in.
Our DC shop will remain open! We reopen January 13th after a little hibernation break and we will be open Saturdays 10am-3pm this winter.
So here’s to a New Year, friends. One of dreamy days instead of rigidly planned ones; one of space and time and putting my family and my well being first before working myself to death. We’re still here, just adjusting and finding a new path for us all. <3
