About Our Brand:
Handmade Habitat is an all natural soy wax candle and beauty goods company rooted in slow, mindful living. Our products are consciously crafted with all natural ingredients to be healthy for the body, home, and Mother Earth.
Founder, Amina Ahmad, started Handmade Habitat while she was a Junior in college studying Environmental Science and Policy at the University of Maryland. While researching a paper, she became acutely aware of how toxic the everyday products in our homes are for both the environment and our long-term health. She set out to make her own all natural, eco-friendly soy candles that would not only cleanly illuminate homes, but also do right by the planet. Today, Handmade Habitat produces all products by hand, in small batches, in their sunny, solar-powered studio in the Langdon neighborhood of Washington, DC.
Get the full scent spread of each of our collections in our starter packs. You will get a smaller quantity of each scent, and it’s a great way to test out a full collection in your shop.
For the Best Burn:
Trim your wicks to 1/4” before each light
WHY: This will prevent your wicks from weighing down and sinking below the melted wax. This will also prevent soot from accumulating in your jars and in your home.
Burn your candle for enough time for the entire surface of the candle to melt evenly.
For your first light, this will take 2-3 hours. For subsequent lights, this will take less time.
WHY: Melted wax will have a different density than set wax and will melt down at different weights. Burning your candle for enough time to get an even burn surface will keep your candle burning well, and prevent tunneling in your candle.
For safety, keep candles away from children and pets or anything that can catch fire.

Ordering & Payment
Opening Order Minimum: $200 • Reorder Minimum $100
All orders must meet case pack requirements
Wholesale orders can be placed through our website. Fill out the inquiries form to request access!
Wholesale orders can be emailed to us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be happy to send an invoice.
Invoice payments are due within 14 days of issue date.Late payments incur a fee of 3% per day.
Our current turnaround time for wholesale orders is 1-3 weeks.
Rush orders are available for an additional fee of 20% of the total order price.
Sample packs of our products are available for purchase prior to your opening order.
In-store samples are included in certain cases. See individual items for details.
Shipping, Pick-Up and Delivery
Orders ship via USPS Priority Shipping or UPS Ground Shipping at buyer's preference. Additional shipping fees apply.
If a different shipping method is preferred, please contact us to coordinate.
Upon shipment, the buyer will receive a tracking number.
Handmade Habitat is not responsible for lost or stolen packages.
We offer a flat delivery fee of $45 to any shop within 20 miles of our studio (zip code 20018).
Orders are available for pick-up from our Washington, DC studio at Off the Beaten Track Warehouse. Please contact us to schedule a pick-up time.
If an order was damaged in any way during shipment, please email (1) a photo of the damaged item, and (2) a photo of the shipment as opened to email@example.com within 5 days of receipt of package. Upon review, we will either send a replacement or apply a credit to a future order at the buyer's preference.
Shipping fees are non-refundable.
Unless specifically noted, additional discounts or refunds are not approved for wholesale orders.
All wholesale orders must be purchased for resale, not individual use.
Purchase of our products implies agreement with our policies.
