We Love Earth. Who Doesn't?
The way we live in the more fortunate parts of the world makes it easy to forget how really dependent we are on the little patches of Earth that hold up our homes, allow us to journey across it and provide us nourishment. Living in cities especially puts us at a distance from nature, and to reconnect with it, we usually go somewhere to do just that - we go to a big natural park to walk; we go camping to immerse ourselves in the outdoors; but in reality we live on and affect the planet every single day. Our relationship with Earth is a symbiotic one (or arguably, more parasitic recently) where some of us are winning and some of us are losing. All we can do is make a little more of a conscious effort to minimize our impact and to level the playing field for everybody's benefit. Conscious choices make those differences and that's why we do what we do here.
Handmade Habitat products are all natural and eco-friendly. We have made a conscious effort to use soy wax in our candles instead of paraffin wax; to scent our candles with all natural fragrance oils and essential oils instead of synthetic fragrances; to use cotton and paper wicks instead of leaded ones; to package our products in glass over plastic; and to actually create each of our little babies by hand instead of having them be born in a loveless, sterile factory. We're trying to live a little more intentionally, a little more consciously, and sure, it's a little harder. But you know what? It's totally worth it, and honestly, way more fun. Plus, all these good vibes are embedded in the soy wax, rose water and oils that penetrate your home and body. What more could you ask for?
