New Plantable Flat Cards!

I'm so excited to share these new additions to the Handmade Habitat family with you today. One of my firmest beliefs in life is that there is nothing better than getting a handwritten note in the mail, and my fridge will tell you that I am lucky enough to have the best of people in my life that believe the same. It's the surest way to literally send some love to someone when they need it most, or just when you want to share it with them.

Fun Fact: Handmade Habitat was never supposed to be a candle company.

This Summer we celebrate six years of being in business, though we never imagined it like this. We were supposed to be a full-range lifestyle boutique making everything from dresses to pillows; catnip toys to stationary. In fact, candles were a product line that grew into a completely unexpected love affair.
But sometimes, intention knows less than the heart.

When we pivoted from that to this, we never lost the love we had for all that we left behind. Over the six years that we have been vending at markets, meeting awesome artists and makers from all over the country and collecting amazing handmade goods for our own home and life, we've still got the thirst to make new. So let me tell you how excited I am to have collaborated on a new, limited product line with fellow DC maker, Grey Moggie Press. It's a very new direction, and a very experimental one, but I am over the moon excited about it. It combines all my favorite things: hand lettering, love for Mother Earth and fine stationary I secretly just want to hoard for myself.

These hand lettered flat cards are designed and hand lettered by me; then letterpress printed onto plantable seed paper by Grey Moggie Press. They've been a long time coming and I've got the googley heart eyes emoji for how these babies turned out. I hope you find some lovely people to share them with, too. Plus, you can even plant them in the ground, and watch how love grows.
