Mar 19 Studio Updates

While times are very weird these days, we’re making some adjustments that will evolve as our global and regional situation changes. Check back here for regular updates.

UPDATE 8/11/20

Our studio is closed for Summer Break from 8/7/20-8/17/20. The online shop will remain open during this time, but orders will ship starting the week of 8/18/20. Online pick-up will also resume 8/18/20.

BEACHHOUSE discount can only be used once per customer. Valid 8/11/20 - 8/17/20 at 11:59pm EST. Code must be used at checkout, and cannot be applied retroactively to your order or to previous orders. UPDATE 7/10/20

Contactless order pick-up is now available! Pick-up is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12-5pm. When placing your online order, use the code “LOCALPICKUP” at check-out. UPDATE 5/29/20

As DC starts to reopen, our studio will remain closed to the public. We moved our entire shipping operation home at the end of March, and will slowly move things back to the studio as we deem it safe and necessary.

We are not rushing to reopen, not rushing to do curbside pick-up although I see those things tentatively in our future. Right now we're still being cautious and will continue to offer free shipping on orders over $50 on our website because that's where we feel the most comfortable.

Thank you all for your patience and staying safe with us. We love you so much, and thank you all for your generous support over the past few months.

We have some more things coming up in next few weeks (pop-ups, community days, and more), and still plan to keep the fun virtual for the foreseeable future. <3

UPDATE 4/25/20

Our studio remains closed for the time being until the emergency stay-at-home order is lifted in the District of Columbia.

We are shipping all orders through USPS Priority Shipping with contactless pick-up which has been experiencing delays due to the COVID-19 crisis. Please expect orders to take a bit longer to reach you during this time.

UPDATE 3/30/20

As of tonight we have moved a selection of goods to our home and plan to ship orders from here while there is a stay-at-home mandate in the state of Maryland and DC effective 3/30/20. We are still able to occasionally work from the studio, but I am planning to stay home as much as possible during this time for the sake of social distancing.

Our online shop has been updated to reflect only in-stock inventory that we can ship from home.

Our studio will remain closed until DC clears businesses to reopen to the public.

STUDIO CLOSURE:

As of 3/15/20, our studio has been closed to the public to encourage social distancing. We anticipated reopening at the beginning of April, but we are keeping a close eye on the situation, following CDC and local guidelines, and will reopen when it is safe to do so. We will update everyone when that is.

ONLINE ORDERS:

Online orders are shipping within five business days from the studio but as we also try to socially distance ourselves, we will ship orders out only once or twice a week.

We are shipping orders for free with USPS Priority Shipping on the site through the end of March with the code “STAYHOME”.

WORKSHOPS + EVENTS:

As of right now we are not scheduling any candle making workshops. We will schedule them when it is safe and advisable to do so again. We are also not scheduling any private candle making workshops until it is safe to do so again.
