December Candle Club: for Rest

December Candle Club: for Rest

December isn’t the most restful month with all the usual holiday chaos, but it should be. It welcomes in the season of hibernation as we wind down for the year and find all the ways to show our family, friends, and community that we care.

This month’s Candle Club delivers that rest to you in the form of our cedarwood lavender candle, a very restful scent (our Hibernation scent, in fact), and a lovely reminder to indulge in those early evenings with cozy nights lit by candles and twinkle lights, writing holiday cards to all your loved friends.

December through the senses. Here’s what we are

SEEING: Twinkley lights. I love those copper string lights and although I have a strand of them up all year round in my house, right now we added a few more, plus wrapped them around a very minimal handmade cedar wreath.

HEARING: That little World Cup jingle. We’ve been watching most of the games at home and loving all the spirit. I was a little skeptical about a winter World Cup but this one has been so lovely and cozy to watch snuggled up on the couch with everyone.

SMELLING: Cedarwood and lavender in wreath form and candle form this month. For coziness and rest, which is definitely what I need the second I get home from a busy day in the studio or at a craft show. It’s an exhausting time of year for me and home is my respite from all the chaos.

TASTING: Oranges and tea, a favorite wintery snack for me. We stash clementines everywhere this time of year, and I love making those little orange slice ornaments too.

TOUCHING: Hot showers are the key to success in the holiday season, and my favorite way to unwind after a long day out in the cold. :)
