June Candle Club: a Matcha Summer

It feels like change is in the air these days, or maybe it's the unpredictable stormy weather. I've always loved a good Summer storm but the one that woke me up last night was a little frightening. Summer is certainly here, and while I'm anticipating a little change, a little newness, I'm also fully enjoying life as is right now.

June through the senses. Here's what I'm..

Seeing: houses and houses and houses. Open houses, Zillow houses, Pinterest houses, it's house hunting season. 

Hearing: The sounds of Jurassic Park. I finished reading the book for the first time (it's so so good!) and now we're critiquing the movies based on the book or book based on the movie depending on whether you're talking to me or my JP-obsessed husband.

Tasting: Matcha matcha matcha. It's a matcha summer. My mom went to Japan in March and brought me back matcha and a matcha bowl, which I've been dying for. I made myself an iced matcha latte the other day and it's my summer vibe. It's so easeful, so healthy, so delicious, and so meditative to brew. I'm so sad it took so long to make it myself.

Smelling: Aloe + Green Tea, my favorite for stormy nights and easeful summer days. It's sweet and mellow, perfect for a cozy Summer night in.

Touching: Soft cozy light yarn. I started knitting a larger blanket for my bb bird who has outgrown the tiny newborn ones she has and needs a baby monster sized blanket to curl up with. It's a perfect project for stormy evenings.
