There's something magical about the dog days of summer. It's like we're wringing out the last sweet drops of this slower paced life before we embark on routine resets in the fall. Even us not on the school schedule feel it. Our shows pick up, the shop gets busier, and we begin the accelerating sprint to the holiday season.

But until then I'm enjoying my extra juicy peaches while constantly transitioning from my sunny deck to my refrigerated home, earning my afternoon naps from chasing after my extra mobile and extra mischievous bebe. Here's to the last bites of summer, friends.

August through the senses. Here's what we're:

Seeing: Pretty little summer flowers still lingering in the heat.

Smelling: Lavender eucalyptus, a scent that is cooling, fresh, and restful at once, our scent of the summer. August Candle Club members will know what we mean. :)

Tasting: Peaches fresh from the farm, the best that summer has to offer, imho.

Hearing: Yacht rock on repeat. I think the Sirius XM station only has like a dozen songs it plays on repeat, but they're all bangers.

Touching: Sand still finding its way out of the crevices of bags and clothing from our lovely big family beach trip last week. Why do we not all just live at the beach always?
